Marine weather discussion for Gulf of Mexico...Caribbean Sea and
southwest north Atlc S of 31n W of 55w
Gulf of Mexico low pres currently near 29n93w with front from the
low to near 20n96w. Strong winds near the low will decrease by
Sun afternoon as the low moves inland. The trailing cold front
also weakens and dissipates early Mon. High pres ridge builds
across the northern Gulf Mon evening with mostly light winds.
The next front moves into the Gulf Tue night and extends from
Tampa Bay to the Bay of Campeche Wed afternoon and from The
Straits of Florida to the Yucatan Channel Thu. Nly winds
increase to 20-25 kt behind the front.
Weak trough in the Atlc from 31n71w to the central Bahamas will
move E and extend from 31n70w to the eastern Bahamas this evening
then dissipate over the E portion of the area tonight. Weak
ridge will build across the area sun through Wed then move E
as a cold front approaches the far W portion of the area Thu.
Mostly light winds across the area through Wed. Then sly winds
increase to 20 kt W of 75w Thu ahead the the approaching cold
front.
Caribbean trades of 20 knots or more are confined to S of 17n E
of 80w through Tue then will weaken some Wed as the above
mentioned front weakens the ridge N of the area Thu.
