Synopsis For The Suwannee River To Destin Out To 60 Nm
Synopsis
A weak pressure gradient across the marine area will result in light winds and low seas into Monday. Monday through Wednesday...the main focus will shift to Hurricane Ike...which is forecast to track west near Cuba and emerge into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico late Tuesday night into Wednesday. The winds and seas will begin to steadily increase across the marine area Monday night through the mid week period as the pressure gradient tightens between Hurricane Ike and a high pressure ridge north of the waters. As Ike continues to track northwest...similar to Gustav last week...the winds and seas will continue to increase going into the second half of the week. For more information on Hurricane Ike refer to the latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center.
