Synopsis
A mainly light and somewhat variable wind flow...with resultant small sea states...will continue over the coastal waters today through Monday night. The wind flow will have a slight offshore component during the late night hours with more of an onshore component in the afternoon hours through Monday night...then will become more consistently easterly and then southeasterly Tuesday through Friday...while gradually increasing. Hurricane Ike is forecast to continue move northwestward into the central Gulf by Thursday. Large swells produced by Ike will likely spread northward...reaching the Gulf coastal waters of Alabama and northwest Florida by Wednesday. All interests in the north central Gulf region need to closely monitor the progress of Hurricane Ike over the next several days.
