Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
A weak to moderate onshore flow is expected through Thursday night...as high pressure over the northern Gulf of Mexico continues. A weak onshore flow will continue Friday and Saturday. Gustav is forecast to enter the southeast Gulf of Mexico early Sunday morning as a hurricane and move into the central Gulf of Mexico Sunday night and the north-central Gulf Monday. As a result...weak offshore flow is expected to develop during the Sunday and Monday period. Mariners should closely monitor the progress and forecasts of Gustav from the National Hurricane Center. Swells from Gustav could begin reaching the middle Texas coastal waters by early Monday morning.
