Coastal Flood Advisory  Statement as of 6:32 am CDT on April 29, 2016

... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 9 am this morning to
4 PM CDT this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
coastal Flood Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am this
morning to 4 PM CDT this afternoon.

* Coastal flooding... minor overwash on the lowest coastal roads
primarily on the Bolivar Peninsula... Surfside and the Blue Water Highway.
Wave run up on area beaches.

* Rip currents... moderate to strong.

* Timing... mid morning through mid afternoon.

* Impacts... water and debris on low roads could impact
travel. Rip currents can lead to dangerous conditions for
even experienced swimmers... especially near structures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
