Synopsis
A strong area of high pressure over the southeastern states and a broad area of low pressure over the southern Gulf of Mexico will continue to bring increasing winds and seas to the coastal waters through Sunday. Tropical Storm Ida is then expected to move into the southern Gulf of Mexico Sunday night into Monday morning. The tropical system is expected to pull into the central Gulf of Mexico by Monday night before shifting toward the eastern Gulf of Mexico as an extratropical low Tuesday into Wednesday.
