Synopsis... 
high pressure builds south over the middle Atlantic region this 
weekend...and remains the dominant weather feature across the 
region through Wednesday. A cold front crosses the region 
Thursday.

Near term /through tonight/... 
considerable hi level cloudiness continuing across extreme southeast Virginia/NE NC counties this 
afternoon...otherwise mostly sky clear across forecast area. Strong surface hi pressure north of forecast area...weak surface 
low pressure just off SC/Georgia cstln. Winds generally NE...spds avgg 15 miles per hour or 
so at the CST...W/ gusts to about 25 miles per hour...whl spds inland mainly between 
10 to 15 miles per hour. 


Xpctg cloudiness to remain over extreme southern sections of the forecast area into the overnight 
hours...otherwise sky clear. NE winds dcpl this evening across inland areas...sloer to 
decreases in vicinity of southeast Virginia/NE NC coastal areas. Surface dewpoints about 3-5 degrees f lower 
than 24 hours ago...Suggs lower mins overnight. Low temperatures from the 40s to 
upper 50s. Have chosen to included patchy fog for most areas away from southeast 
Virginia/NE NC.

Short term /Sunday through Tuesday/... 
not much to say about expeceted weather sun through Tuesday. Hi pressure surface/aloft to 
dominate. Low level flow gradually shifts from east-northeast to mr offshr by Tuesday...hi temperatures 
at or above seasonal nrmls (wrmst on Tuesday west/ widespread 80s xpctd)...near normal 
nightime low rdgs. Record hi temperatures incldd below for reference.

Long term /Tuesday night through Saturday/... 
going with dry weather in the extended forecast. Although a frontal boundary will 
drop across the area from the northwest Thursday into Thursday night...do not believe it 
will have much moist associated with it. So...for now will not mention 
any probability of precipitation. Othrwise...wrmer than normal temperatures expected Wednesday and Thursday 
as hi pressure will be centered to the S...before frontal boundary pushes 
into/through region later Thursday/Thursday night. Cooler/more normal temperatures return 
for Friday and Sat...as hi pressure builds in from the northwest.

Aviation /18z Saturday through Thursday/... 
NE flow continues across the taf sites between high pressure over 
the eastern Great Lakes and low pressure off the Georgia coast. 
Gusty winds to over 20 knots are occurring at orf and ecg. Little 
change in wind direction is expected during the next 24 hours with 
a slow diminishing trend in speeds tonight and sun. 


The only fog concern overnight is at sby. Dew points are in the 
50s today and with min temperatures expected to drop into the 
lower 40s...conditions appear to be similar to last night and this 
morning when visibilities were below one mile from about 0230 to 
0900z. 


VFR will continue into middle week except for early morning fog... 
even as the next frontal system arrives sometime around Tuesday night 
or Wednesday.

Marine... 
will maintain Small Craft Advisory for southern ches Bay and Currituck sand through sun 
eveng...coastal waters from Chincoteague to Cape Charles Light (thru sun 
morng) and Cape Charles Light to Currituck Beach Light into Erly Monday 
morng...due to NE winds. Hi pressure will be right over the area Monday and 
Tuesday...then S of the region Wednesday into Thursday. Winds will be less than 15 
knots and waves 1 to 2 feet and seas 2 to 4 feet.
