Discussion...once again...little fundamental change made to 
inherited forecast. 


Upper ridge over Texas expected to gradually weaken and shift 
eastward atop the region. At the surface...high pressure forecast to 
continue stretching from the Atlantic westward across the northern 
Gulf. The axis of the surface and 850 mb high over the northwest Gulf will 
continue to promote low level winds with a westerly component 
which will usher in warming low level temperatures. Surface dewpoints 
are prognosticated to remain in the upper 60s/lower 70s. Combined with 
forecast high temperatures of 95 to 100...this will yield heat 
index values of 105 to 110 tomorrow and Monday. Have gone ahead 
and issued a heat advisory for central Louisiana parishes...which 
will have the best opportunity of meeting the 108 degree heat 
index criteria...though it will certainly be plenty hot and humid 
everywhere. 


Temperatures will start to temper and probability of precipitation start to increase by 
middle week as the upper ridge weakens further/moves off to the east. 


Forecast in the extended range a bit murkier as the models are 
having a difficult time coming to any sort of consistent solution. 
Will continue with near climatology probability of precipitation and temperatures.

Aviation...VFR expected to prevail for the next 24 hours.

Marine...light winds and seas will persist for the next several 
days as the region remains under dominated by high pressure at the 
surface and aloft.
