582 fxus64 kmrx 281933 afdmrx Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Morristown Tennessee 333 PM EDT Thursday Aug 28 2008 Short term (tonight through Saturday night) weak surface high pressure builds in from the west tonight. Forecast consideration for tonight is degree of drying in the boundary layer and extent of fog formation. Would not be surprised to see some areas become dense. Weak cold front moves in Friday night and through the area on Sat. Front loses much of its moisture on the way here. Isolated convection most likely over elevated areas during daytime heating Friday and Sat. Steering flow very weak so any storms that do develop may result in localized one inch amounts. Temperatures above normal. Long term (sunday through thursday)...a weak surface boundary tracks into the region on Sunday and lingers into Monday. Moisture is limited but weak instability is expected so kept slight chance probability of precipitation for both Sunday and Monday. High pressure returns on Tuesday bringing dry weather for Tuesday through Thursday. Stayed near mex/HPC guidance for temperatures. && Preliminary point temps/pops...
