Discussion... 
a few showers/thunderstorms may develop near a surface trough that was located 
over the panhandles early this afternoon and move into parts of northwest OK. A 
cold front will move into OK Thursday and continue to move south 
eventually stalling in North Texas late Friday. Showers/thunderstorms will be 
possible with this front across parts of the forecast area Thursday afternoon into Sat. 


Models show a middle/upper trough moving into the western U.S. Late this 
weekend and continue to move east across the U.S. Early next week. This 
system will push another front south into the Southern Plains early 
next week... with a chance of showers/thunderstorms for parts of the forecast area with 
the front. Cooler and wet weather may occur early to middle next 
week for parts of the forecast area. However...this depends on the path of 
Hurricane Gustav. European model (ecmwf) shows Gustav after it comes on shore moving 
northwest into eastern OK which could bring cooler temperatures... 
clouds... and heavy rainfall... with the best chance of this 
occurring over eastern portions of the forecast area. Will have to continue to 
monitor the path of Gustav over the next few days.
