The area of rain was associated with an upper level system making slow eastward progress across southwest Kansas. Through 1 PM...rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will continue to slide eastward...mainly affecting eastern Oklahoma. Scattered showers can be expected across the remainder of the region.

915 fxus64 ktsa 061537 afdtsa Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Tulsa OK 1037 am CDT Monday Oct 6 2008 Update... && Discussion... a fairly narrow band of showers and embedded thunderstorms is traversing the region this morning. Areal coverage has not really increased since very early this morning and there is no new development to the west yet. However... new convective development will likely occur west of this band later this afternoon... depending upon how warm temperatures can get. Have lowered afternoon probability of precipitation for areas behind the current precipitation band while keeping high probability of precipitation to the east of it. No other changes to the forecast were necessary. Updated products have already been sent. && Tsa watches/warnings/advisories... OK...none. Arkansas...none. && $$ Short term...06 long term....15
