Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Grand Forks ND
940 PM CDT Wednesday Aug 27 2008

Discussion...
current radar shows most precipitation echoes in the northern valley and
west of the dvl lake region. Also see a band from the extreme
southern portion of the southern valley to just south of Bemidji.
Expect southern band to eventually Peter out by midnight as instability
axis pushes east...however expect weak short wave to provide enough
energy to keep northern showers going through the night. Will
clear dvl lake region of probability of precipitation...and keep northern valley and
northwest Minnesota in slight chance probability of precipitation through 12z. Temperatures in
the dvl lake region down to Valley City sig cooler due to
rainfall in the region. Will cut min temperatures 4 to 5 degree in these
areas. Also tweaked sky and winds to represent current trends.

&&

Aviation...
VFR conds with isolated rain showers expected near bji and tvf
tonight. Threat for showers at dvl...gfk...and far are pretty
low...however will see 5k to 8k overcast ceilings through 12z.
Should see an increase in westerly surface winds by around 14z...with
VFR conds expected on Thursday.

&&

Fgf watches/warnings/advisories...
ND...none.
Minnesota...none.
