NWS Forecaster Discussion
311 fxus63 kdlh 071511 afddlh Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Duluth Minnesota 1011 am CDT sun Sep 7 2008 Discussion... an area of was moving through our far eastern zones...into The Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin. This occurring ahead of a cold front and shortwave. We have updated grids this morning to account for the lack of rain in our western zones...and to drop the fog. Cyclonic flow aloft...with a cold pocket of 500mb temperatures of -20 to -24c should be enough to create more showers/storms this afternoon. We did not change probability of precipitation much this afternoon...but did up the sky cover. A few of the storms will be capable of producing hail this afternoon...with freezing levels quite low. Temperatures are on track...and did not change them for today. && Point temps/pops... dlh 62 44 60 41 / 60 20 20 20 inl 59 37 59 36 / 60 20 20 20 brd 63 41 60 40 / 60 10 20 20 hyr 64 39 60 36 / 60 30 20 20 asx 64 42 61 38 / 60 40 20 20 && Dlh watches/warnings/advisories...
