Area forecast discussion...updated
National Weather Service Spokane Washington
1106 am PDT Friday Oct 10 2008

..updated aviation...

Synopsis...
an unseasonably cool area of low pressure has developed over the
northwest and will linger through the end of the week. Breezy
north winds will overtake the region by midday today as cold dry
air moves across the northern rockies. With the upper low now over
the Great Basin moving slowly east the next 48 hours...the
isolated rain and snow showers over the Lewiston and Camas Prairie
region this morning will slowly decrease.

&&

Previous discussion... /issued 939 am PDT Friday Oct 10 2008/
rest of today...the only updates were to adjust clouds and a few
high temperatures. We'll keep an isolated rain/snow shower threat in the
forecast for mainly the Camas Prairie of Idaho given the slow demise of
precipitation on the regional mosaic radar as well as satlite trends. Low-
level cold air advection and breezy north winds will accompany the passage of a
coldfnt that should reach all of eastern Washington from the north shortly.
We'll evaluate whether or not to issue a freeze warning for
tonight for the Lewiston area. The warning looks like a good bet
if ceilings scatter...which they should do by late tonight. Bz

&&

Aviation...
expect gusty northeast winds to increase steadily through this
evening...and be the strongest around the kcoe taf and north toward
the British Columbia border. Gusts to 30 miles per hour will be common before decreasing
by middle-morning Sat. VFR ceilings now over the Palouse and Lewiston
region are expected to diminish later today...and remain scattered
overnight. Precipitation is no longer expected after 20z for klws or kpuw. Bz
