Update...solid rain band west of Tropical Storm Fay has been 
generating strong winds in Sumter and Levy County for that last 
few hours. We initially handled with a Special Weather 
Statement...but it appears that this rain band will be with US for 
a while. We have issued a Wind Advisory...which covers sustained 
winds up to 39 miles per hour...and gusts up to 57 miles per hour. 


Otherwise...heavy rain has moved into the counties where the Flood 
Watch was issued for...so the forecast is holding up nicely. I 
will tweak winds in the grids as needed and get them sent to the 
point and clicks on the web. 


For our cocorahs members...we would appreciate it if you could 
enter intense precipitation reports on the cocorahs web Page if 
you receive rainfall totals of 2 inches or more. 


Weather radar is estimating 3 to 4 inches of rain already in 
northeast Sumter County...with about 3 inches in eastern Levy 
County. This area has been relatively dry...and reports from Levy 
County emergency management indicate that the drainage ditches 
were primarily empty before the start of this event. We expect 
mainly nuisance flooding of poor drainage areas through tonight... 
but could see more significant flooding if the heavy rains 
continue into Friday as expected. 


Will update the zones as soon as possible to headline the Wind 
Advisory for our northern counties...otherwise no major changes 
are planned.

Aviation...tempo MVFR ceilings will continue across the taf sites 
overnight and Friday as bands of clouds rotate around Fay. Could see 
some MVFR/local IFR visibilities in the quick moving showers and 
thunderstorms through Friday...and also within the main area of rain 
that could drift as far south as tpa/pie tonight into early Friday 
morning. Winds will should also remain up with gusts to around 30 
knots possible in the vicinity of the rain bands or isolated 
thunderstorm activity. Otherwise...VFR conditions are expected.

Marine...winds will soon be gusting to gale force over the waters 
north of Tarpon Springs. We will be updating the coastal waters 
forecast early to increase the winds to 20 to 30 knots with gusts 
to gale force. Mariners are urged to delay trips until Fay 
releases the region from her grip. 


Winds are beginning to increase in the Bay as well...with Old Port 
Tampa now sustained at 20 knots with gusts to 24 knots. Port 
Manatee is also 20 knots sustained with gusts to 27 knots. Will 
add Tampa Bay to the Small Craft Advisory with the early update.

Bonita Beach to Englewood out 20 nm-Bonita Beach to Englewood 
out 20 to 60 nm-Englewood to Tarpon Springs out 20 nm- 
Englewood to Tarpon Springs out 20 to 60 nm-Tampa Bay waters- 
Tarpon Springs to Suwannee River out 20 nm-Tarpon Springs to 
Suwannee River out 20 to 60 nm-Tampa Bay waters.
